I was feeling a little off the other day. Kind of dragging myself from one place to the next. Nothing major. Just a little disconnected from the flow I love.
I took myself to the pottery studio to practice for a few hours. Several other members were there, in their own worlds, focused on their solo projects. I was relieved I didn’t have to make small talk.
I was there for a good 30 minutes when a new member arrived and set up on the wheel across from mine. As she sat down, she looked me in the eyes, smiled warmly, and said, “Hi!” And then she returned her attention to her wheel.
It was a momentary connection. There was no further chit-chat. And what’s so lovely is that something so brief, so simple, shifted my entire space. The heaviness I had been feeling all day instantly lifted, and I was reminded of my connection.
I finished up a bit later, and on my way home, I ran a few errands — but now vibing very differently. I felt renewed, and I had an easy, warm smile for those I encountered along the way.
It amazes me how a simple connected “Hello” can bring us back into connection with ourselves, and that when we are there, we can’t help but radiate warmth and be an invitation for others. I imagine that simple connected “Hi” weaving and multiplying like golden threads through our communities, lifting hearts along the way. So powerful!
