When the energies of distraction and diversion are coming in hot, it can feel almost impossible to stay centered. But this moment is also powerful training—an invitation to reclaim your attention, strengthen your clarity, and step into a quiet kind of personal mastery.
Yesterday, while meditating on my main thing, I noticed the energies of distraction and diversion floating around in the space.
They looked like clouds with flashing lights – begging for my attention and blocking me from seeing my main thing clearly. It was easy to be a little mesmerized by the display of distraction and diversion.
What I found so amusing was that while I sat there in meditation – working to reclaim my attention and focus – tree trimmers on the neighboring street fired up not one but two chainsaws.
A perfect outward turbulent expression of the inner static created by distraction and diversion. And an even deeper invitation to practice owning the power of my attention and focusing on my main thing, regardless of what was happening in the environment.
I’m offering this reflection today: a profound gift of our times is the opportunity to develop awareness and clarity about the forces that want to distract and divert our focus.
We get to practice reclaiming our attention for whatever our main thing is. And that is very powerful!
